I am am local correspondent for a North Notts Newspaper and ex RAF VR (T) Officer. Both my father and stepfather served during the second world war. The former as an infantryman in the Royal Scots Fusiliers and the latter as a 2 tourist Bomber Command man. (Wireless operaor air gunner, then squadron signals leader and finally pilot with 149 7 and 156 Squadrons.
I aim to create memoirs for both who are now sadly no longer with us.
I have also been tasked by the local branch of the Royal British Legion to assist their members with creating a both a local archive and the peoples war web site.
The local library have been alerted to expect a flood of ladies and gentlemen with a story to tell
