I joined the Army in 1944 and as a member of the Auxilliary Fire Service was posted to the Army Fire Service. There were 6 fireboats in attendance at the Mulberry Harbour and names I remember of crew members are:

Corporal Galbraith (from Glasgow)
Charlie Brown (from Bradford)
Les Reed (from London)
Skipper Sutherland
Sgt Harry Gosford (now deceased)
David Elvy (or Levy)
and "Brewery Bert" (from London)

I would be very interested in making contact with any of these people or their families. I am now approaching my 88th birthday, and these entries have been made by my daughter.
