The story of being taken out of London and finally coming back permanently four years later.
Living in the home of a Millionaire - he was not there but a man used to bring us tins of toffee's from the U.S.A.
Very happy most of the time and have visited the people in the village many times. My children all went down there with me and always make the "daughter of the house" and her husband welcome when she visits us twice a year.
I am living in my 27th home having been an air force wife for many years. Have lived in the West Country for almost 40 years and won't be moving much now!
I had three brothers who were all in the forces eventually. The family were bombed out from Creeland Grove, Catford in l940 and my Mother found a "temporary" home in Sandhurst Road Catford where she lived until about 1974 when she came to live with us in Cornwall.
One brother was at Mt. Casino, another in the Russian Convoys and the youngest one at Niemagen
so they all have their own stories to tell.
My school in London was bombed and 90 odd children were killed so I was extremely lucky to have been evacuated. The school was in Ardgowan Rd. Catford and my sister in law jumped out of the 2nd floor window.
