I was born in Grimsby about 5 years before the second World War. I lived on Compton Drive and attended South Parade Junior School. My father was the manager of Gait's Bookshop in The Old Market Place. My mother was a prominent member of The Grimsby Bridge Club. I still live in North Lincs but have lost contact with all the people that I was at school with. I have registered on this site because I wish to share my memories of life in Grimsby as a schoolboy during the war with others who might be interested and to hear from other people who were around in Grimsby at that time. Es pecially I am excited by the prospect of making contact with people who I have not seen for over 60 years.
David Peers.
