I lived in Gosport, Hants. I had two elder brothers and a younger sister. I and my younger sister were evacuated to Shedfield and Shirrell Heath in Hants, from 1939 to 1941. I joined the Army Apprentice College in Oct. 1942 and completed my training in Oct.1945. The college became a staging area for D-Day and I was in a group of apprentices sent to the REME Workshop at Ashford in Kent.
I have written about my life in WW2 in two parts. From 1939 to 1942 and then from 1942 to 1945.
