My name is Julie, I would like to share my story about my Father, Clifford Spencer. He was a prisoner of war in Italy, and after my Mother died, I found along with all the letters they wrote to each other, diaries that my dad had kept. It took me two years to write it out, but felt such an achievement when I had finished it. I have wrote it has he had written it. so please excuse spelling mistakes and blanks, I have tried to find places that he mentions, on the map, but couldn't find them. My Father never spoke about his experiences, so reading all this was very emotional. Dad died at the age of 57, due to having TB. A direct result of having to spend over a year in prison Hospital with a shattered elbow. and mixing with TB patients.
I was 5 when he went to war and 9 when he returned. I wondered if there is anyone out there who remembered the same place,at the same time, maybe some son or daughter like me?
