These extracts are taken from the personal memoirs of Major Desmond Scarr. Entitled "Recollections" the memoirs were written in 1989 and were distributed in hard back form to close family and friends.
Major Scarr is retired and living in Cheltenham.The entries were submitted by his son, Edward Scarr, with permission from the author.
