My father’s family experienced WW2 on two fronts, at home and in the theatre of war.

My late uncle Ronnie, joined the RAF in 1941 and went onto fly in 61 missions, in North Africa, Italy, Austria and Yugoslavia. Sadly he met his end in an accident in 1945 returning from a mission.

Fortunately, the family retains his mission log books, letters home and many photographs from his time in the RAF, which give a vivid account of the serviceman’s life.

My father Peter, the youngest of five brothers and sisters, witnessed the other side of war, the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Front. Although never quite in the same peril as his oldest brother, was, like so many, subject to the terror of regular bombing raids. The family home narrowly missing becoming a casualty of an incendiary device.

The website is a tribute to my late uncle, and documents his career and life in the RAF during WW2.
