Cannock Library in Staffordshire is supporting the People's War initiative as part of a countywide project.

Our first venture was to team up local school children with ex-servicemen from The British Legion.

On Friday 16th July 6 children aged 9 & 10 (Callum Banbury, Natalie Dyas, Ryan Garbett, Bethany Sheilds, Joe Jones & Kirsty Bugajski)came to the library from Longford Primary School with their teacher Miss Sandford to meet, listen to and type up stories from our veterans.

Although only 2 veterans attended everyone had a very enjoyable morning and we got some great press coverage.

We are now aiming to run the session again later in the year, this time offering free internet access to anyone with a story to tell.
