ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Blast are running a series of activities during the summer for young people to get involved with. Find out more here.

Radio Production Course

ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Blast and RadioActive are running free courses for anyone aged between 13 and 19 years old. The course will last for one week starting July 31st and will take place at Centre 88, Saner Street (off Anlaby Road) in Hull.

Young people can find out about working in the radio industry and get creative to produce their own radio program.

The course includes a visit to the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ and see a live broadcast of a programme andÌý chat to the presenters about how they started out in radio.

They will also record, mix and edit their own radio programs, jingles and stings, which could get played on ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio Humberside or uploaded to the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Blast website.

Soundwaves

Bridlington's South Beach will host a free music event on Wednesday 2nd August between 1pm and 4pm.

Soundwaves '06 will showcase young local bands including 3 Fold, Find Yourself Lost, My Soul Eternal, Rocket, Xpress Dancers and Impossible Thesoay.

Creative Voice

The annual 'Creative Voice' takes place on Saturday 2nd September in Hull's Queen's Gardens.ÌýThe event is free and this year the festival is focusing on music.

The event is aimed at young people in Hull and the surrounding areas and will showcase local young bands, as well as featuring more established bands in the city, including The Dirty Dreamers and The Favours.

The Blast Truck

From Friday 1st to Saturday 2nd September, the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Blast Truck will be in the centre of Hull.Ìý

The Blast Truck is a brand new, state of the art multi-media facility, which will host workshops for young people in animation, film, music and other creative subjects.

The Truck will profile work created by young people across ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ platforms including live web-casts on Blast local and national websites, links with ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ local radio and regional TV, ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Big Screens, downloads to mobiles and bluetooth technology and national showcases on Blast on ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ 2.
