ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio Humberside's Ruth Barcroft caught up with Hull's most famous fundraiser; Jean Bishop, better known as Mrs Bumblebee.

Bumblebee Lady, Jean Bishop

You may have seen her in Princess Quay or the Prospect Centre rattling her tin for Age Concern. She's doing a great job and has already raised £65,000. Her ambition is to raise £100,000 but Mrs Bumblebee says there's no such thing as retirement.

When she takes her costume off, her name is Jean Bishop and she's the grand age of 85.

Originally from Louth, Jean moved to Hull when she was young and has lived in the city ever since. She has been a regular at Age Concern for more than 20 years and particularly loves 'knit and natter' on a Wednesday. In fact she never goes on holiday because she says she can't live without her Wednesdays at Age Concern.

Bee-ootiful: Jean's costume

A few years ago Jean met the Queen who instantly recognised her, despite the fact she wasn't wearing her costume. Her Majesty asked why she wasn't wearing it and Jean said she would have had to have paid for two seats on the train.

Please flutter those ears and take flight as you listen to the journey ofÌýthis most intriguing, delightful, sweet honey.
