In PicturesYou are in: Jersey > Island Games 2005 > In Pictures > All set to go All set to goThe Jersey team get together for the last time before travelling to Shetland next month for the 2005 Island Games. ![]() Team Jersey Athletes from around the island gathered at the Hotel de France to look ahead to what is hoped will be another medal-filled games for the Jersey team. The Chairman of Jersey’s Island Games Association, Bob McGinnigle, announced that physiotherapist Morag Obarska will carry the flag for the island at the opening ceremony. “She’s been involved in seven games now. She’s had a devotion and in the lead up to the games she continues to work with athletes and others preparing for the games dealing with any issues during the games or injuries and even thereafter until they’re ready to move on.†![]() Island Games Tracksuits It was announced that Jersey will also be backing Aland’s bid to host the 2009 games ahead of the rival bid from Ynys Mon. The competitors applauded after they were shown a short film about Shetland, and there was a display of all the tracksuits worn by Jersey teams from 1989 until the present day.
