Around
the edge of Soldiers Field were stalls selling everything from jewellery
to books as well as local information stands. World Food Circus
provided a huge range of foods from the east.
Youngsters
were kept entertained by the huge inflatable Children's World and
children of all ages enjoyed the rides in the fun fair.
Two
stages provided the entertainment with music from banghara to Bollywood,
fashion shows, DJs and more.

"I
have been to Mela, and found it to be great day out. But I
was surprised at the quality and quantity of the food stalls
there. They were not as varied as they could be."
- Mukul Tyagi, Leeds
"I
had a fantastic time at the Mela, the music in particular
was great - but I agree about the food, I've been to the last
3 events and there certainly wasn't as much variety as in
previous years. It was great to see all the different cultures
just rubbing along and enjoying the sunny afternoon - we need
more of this kind of thing especially with the world the way
it is following 9/11 and Iraq."
- Richard Edwards
