Well
the first of four hard days is over. Jane and Luke left the sea
this morning and it will be two weeks before they see it again only
next time it will be the English Channel.
One
thing that has struck us over the last few days has been the warmth
of the reception she has received from the large British community
in the South of France it has been quite staggering.
The
funds coming into the appeal has slowed down over the last couple
of days. There are two reasons for this.
Firstly
the initial push at the start of the ride has slowed down and secondly
the media companies have not been displaying the donation details
either in print or on screen.
There
will be fresh interest this weekend as Jane climbs Mont Ventoux
on Monday and they may get their first glimpse of the beast on Monday.
This
is the 15th day Jane and everyone have been away and the desire
to be home has never been stronger.
They
have been fortunate tonight to have a good meal. The food on the
trip has been a big disappointment along with the weather which
has been no better than you could get in Settle in November.
A state
of nervous excitement is building towards Monday.........still only
24 days cycling left!
See
the full diary and bike route.
