A staggering
740 miles has been completed and today was an arduous ride with
plenty of climbs. Jane and Luke cycled through the Gorges de Verdun
which Jane had deliberately included in the ride. The second of
the quartet of really hard days has been done.
Tomorrow
is a shorter day as they stop at Sault which is at the bottom of
Mont Ventoux. I'm not sure how much sleep they'll get with the mountain
casting it's shadow over them.
Jane
is in a fair bit of pain in her back, legs and arms. The pot of
gold on her rainbow is a rest day on Tuesday, the first. There is
still two thirds of the ride left and no doubt it's going to start
getting really tough.
Jane's
spirits are improving and the low spot of Thursday has passed. Plenty
of media are joining Jane & Luke on the road from Sunday with
Jane knowing them all so the atmosphere should be good.
As
for the fund raising it stands at £45000 for the ride. As
we are two weeks into it a target of £100,000 may be achievable
which would be fantastic yet not undeserved for the effort Jane
& Luke are putting in.
