It
was always going to be a difficult day and it didn't disappoint.
A total journey of 107 miles, 4000ft of climbs and a 5.30am start
- who'd want to do that for charity? Never mind the other 35 days.
Tonight
Jane is totally exhausted and too tired to eat. Fortunately the
weather broke mid-morning and they were able to ride in cool air.
This
route was the reverse of a long Tour of France stage from 2003.
Jane always fancied completing a stage, just to experience the day's
journey. One option for doing this year's ride was to do the whole
Tour route but so many have done it before it didn't seem unique.
Today's
average speed was 13.1mph which was the fastest average day so far.
The
finish of the ride will be at 1.30 at Victoria Gardens Leeds on
Monday 7 June. For anyone who knows Leeds it's by the Town Hall
in front of the Art Gallery.
It
seems increasingly likely Jane may have a chance of completing the
journey which we hadn't really contemplated as a possibility until
now. Still there's a lot of miles to go.
Tomorrow
is a rest day which will allow time to do the washing and make repairs
to the bike. Spirits are high on the road. Everyone is back to health
and deserving of a rest.

the full diary and bike route.
