Luxury
over, Paris is history and the ride continues. The 50 mile ride
to Liancourt was a shock to the system after the palatial accommodation
of the embassy.
Tonight
the hotel was obviously a a grand place in its heyday, sadly some
30 years ago. Luke was banished to a rickety old sofa bed. The hardest
days can be after a rest when the body is still craving extra time.
After
the south of France, the Alps and northern Italy, the scenery is
less dramatic with the ride having a rolling effect.
Jane
is feeling unwell which is hardly surprising considering there has
been four weeks on the ride. Her backside and lower back are feeling
the brunt of the pain.
The
dynamics of the ride will change tomorrow as Steven and I will join
them on the road tomorrow. As people come and go the feeling of
team camaraderie is spoilt, with the new people not adding value
and being an unsettling influence. For those on the ride things
wont be the same again.
