A gruelling
day of 80 miles after three consecutive difficult days has left
Luke and Jane drained. Jane was extremely unwell last night, unable
to sleep or rest.
The
pain in the lower back is intense. A continuing cycle of exercises
all night and bath at 4am did little to alleviate the pain.
There
was an option for Jane to shorten today's distance and cycle straight
to Calais but she preferred to take a route through Ypres and Dunkirk.
The
route into Belgium made a change with a different language making
the road directions more difficult to follow.
Jane
will have to rely on will power to continue the journey. No matter
how many times you visit Calais it fails to disappoint. It has a
pleasant beach but the town itself lacks a structure and appears
soulless.
It
seems a little odd for Jane to making the journey back to England
tomorrow, but it will be good to have her back on home soil.
