Sometimes you hear a town's name and immediately you have a mental image of it. Today the ride was set to finish in Shirley which let's face is it is not Monaco or Florence. Sadly the image didn't disappoint. Of all the place visited on the ride it has been by far the worst and in that I include all towns travelled through.

The live TV broadcast tonight was halted because of yobbish behaviour and tomorrow mornings has been cancelled because a suitable alternative location can't be found. I'm sorry, but what does that say?

As if that wasn't enough Jane stepped outside the Indian Restaurant where they were eating tea to phone home only for a group of men to recognise her and moon at her. For anyone who has not been there, don't bother you've missed nothing.

Very fortunately the ride will move on tomorrow, and Shirley will be just a bad memory.

I know some people are interested so here is the schedule for the last day.

7am: Glossop, B6105 to A628 to A6024
8.30am: Holme Moss, Holme, Honley, Almondbury
9.30am: Hill Side on to A642
10am: Horbury
10.30am: Wakefield
11am: Rothwell
Rest
1pm: Rothwell to Leeds via A639 to Crown Point Bridge, follow loop route to city square, East Parade, Headrow
1.30pm: F
