A good
ride today of 65 miles which has taken the total ridden to 1800.
Plans are beginning to gather momentum for the finish on Monday.
Both cyclists now looked tired. Despite the close proximity to the
finish it still feels someway to home. That may be because Sunday
they have to traverse Snake Pass and Monday Holme Moss.
With
the atmosphere of Ashbourne one of euphoria after England's victory
a quick tea at the fish bar was taken.
It's
sad to report that everyone was in bed for 9pm. There may be a pre-conception
that it's just one big party on the road but the reality is far
removed. The whole ride is done in a professional manner.
It's
almost certain that the fund raising will reach £150,000 before
Monday's finish which is just astonishing. Without any commercial
backers it means practically all the donations.
Perhaps
the saddest part about Monday is our daughter Rebecca will miss
the finish as she has a GCSE examination.
