My Memory

Bishop Goss school - taken around 1950. Cathie is on the far left at the front.

"I remember with great fondness my days at Bishop Goss school, Grosvenor St.

"I was painfully shy in those days and very quiet, so probably not many people remember me.

" My name was Catherine Haake and my brothers were Michael, James and Peter, and my parents were Kitty (nee Noone)Ìýand Con and we lived in Addison Street, off Scotland road.

" The teachers that I remember were Miss Lunt, Miss Birchall Mr. Norton and Sister Agnes (a lovely lady).

" Bishop Goss was the infants and junior school.Ìý The senior school was called St. Josephs as was the church. I didn't go on to the senior school as I went to Notre Dame, Everton Valley when I was 11.

"Names I remember from Bishop GossÌýare Catherine McDonald (her father owned a sweet shop next to the presbytery-the priest's house), Margaret Daly, Margaret Cunningham."
