Help for Harold Hill

The 20 year Harold Hill Ambitions project has now been given the go ahead by Havering council.

The 20 year Harold Hill Ambitions project has been given the go ahead by Havering council. The scheme will seeÌý more than £15 million pumped into rejuvenating the area. It'll also provide 500 new houses, as well as better education and training opportunities, youth centres, parks and community services.

There'll be a new learning village built, which will include better facilities for existing schools, a new academy for 11-19 year olds and a new Havering College of Further and Higher Education campus.

The area will benefit from a new bigger library at Hilldene with upgraded computer and meeting rooms and community learning facilities which can be accessed by residents and community groups.

The project also involves a major upgrade of parkland in the area, improved streets, roads and pavements and shopping centre.Ìý The council will also work with Havering NHS to improve the health and well-being of residents.Ìý

The Council is currently looking at ways to improve the standard of housing in the area and has plans to continue improving community safety

The leader of Havering Council Michael White said it’s about bringing opportunity to the area:

"residents needed more opportunities, they needed education, better living standards and a safe local area in which to live, own a home, find work and raise a family.

"Now with the approval of cabinet the Harold Hill Ambitions project can begin to deliver on its promise residents of the area."ÌýÌý
