Jarvis
Cocker performing at the Brits in 1996
|
The
bespectacled one and Lord Crowley of Pop celebrated more than 20
years of Pulp and the release of their new greatest hits album.
Sheffield's finest formed way back in 1979, but didn't hit the big
time until more than a decade later with the breakthrough hits 'Do
You Remember The First Time', 'Common People' and 'Disco 2000'.
Head honcho Jarvis talked about the band's formation, their move
to London in the 1980s and the ensuing years of struggling to make
ends meet.
He also chatted about finally hitting the big time - and lots of
other things. As you can hear below!
Audio

Pulp Part 1 - (14', 58")
Jarvis talks about leaving London for Paris, playing lots of
'van cricket', the formation of the band in the late 70s and
writing Common People.
Pulp Part
2 - (19', 35")
He talks about Sorted For Es And Wizz and the raves that
inspired the song, remembering HIS first time, the 1980s, Britpop
and stardom.
