Live Earth is a 24-hour, 7-continent series of concerts in London, New York, Sydney, Rio de Janeiro, Johannesburg, Tokyo, Shanghai, Hamburg and Istanbul.

England fans watching the Big Screen

The Big Screen in Exchange Square

The aim is to bring together more than 100 music artists and 2 billion people to trigger a global movement to solve the climate crisis.

The main UK focus will be the Wembley concert which includes Madonna and the Red Hot Chili Peppers in the line-up as well as Manchester's very own David Gray.

On screen

Live Earth is being broadcast live on ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ One and ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Two throughout the day.

If fancy watching the event as part of a crowd, we're broadcasting the Wembley gig only live on the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Big Screen in Exchange Square from 13:30 to 22:30 BST.

NB: Please come prepared for the changeable weather and remember: drinking alcohol is not allowed in Exchange Square.
