Across the world, reliable and accurate journalism is under threat. Disinformation is rife, authoritarianism is rising and trust in the media is failing. In an increasingly uncertain world, 75% of countries do not have a free press.
That means billions of people will make life-changing decisions for themselves and the next generation without access to trustworthy information.
At ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Media Action, we believe in a future where everyone – wherever they live – can access the truth and make informed choices for themselves. The Pursuit of Truth is our promise to protect and strengthen public interest media in the world’s poorest and most fragile places.

With your donation, we will:
- Train and support the next generation of journalists, focusing on those under 35 and in countries most at risk
- Fight against disinformation, supporting trusted local partners to come up with solutions that work
- Improve solutions to information disorder, such as the ethical use of AI in newsrooms, so technology works for the truth – not against it
- Build digital literacy skills in young people, so they can tell fact from fiction for themselves
- Provide frontline media outlets with urgent financial and editorial support so they can lead in areas most prone to conflict and crisis

Why the truth matters
. Without access to facts, people cannot make informed decisions for their families, their health, their safety, their freedom and their future. Years of progress are at risk.
Join the movement
Your support is vital. To achieve this, we aim to raise an additional £2 million per annum for the next three years to support trustworthy journalism. But we can’t do it alone. With your donation, we can give people the information they need to survive, thrive and live in a freer, fairer, safer world.
