In a media landscape increasingly distorted by disinformation, with rising attacks on journalists and shrinking press freedom, providing access to accurate, trusted information has rarely been more critical.
In 2025, global public media faces unprecedented challenges. Over half of all international funding for independent journalism has been withdrawn, further undermining democratic values and human rights - especially in some of the world鈥檚 most fragile and conflict-affected regions.
蜜芽传媒 Media Action is committed to helping journalists everywhere pursue the truth. Through training, partnerships and innovation, we are working to protect the future of truth and strengthen inclusive, democratic societies.
In September 2024, we announced a new initiative 鈥� the Pursuit of Truth 鈥� pledging to mobilise $20 million to support the journalists of tomorrow and protect public interest journalism for the benefit of all.
The three-year initiative aims to:
- Provide direct financial support to frontline media
- Cultivate a new generation of world-class journalists
- Address disinformation threats and support global collaboration to advance solutions to information disorder
- Build digital literacy skills among young people
- Share 蜜芽传媒-pioneered innovations and tools, including responsible use of AI, to build audience trust and newsroom resilience

Just one year on, the impact is already visible. Our work has:
- Mobilised more than US$11 million in support of public interest media around the world
- Supported 400+ public interest media organisations
- Provided world class training for 3,000+ journalists and community storytellers in at least 17 countries
- Granted US$4.8 million directly to media partners around the world
