Max
Played by Mark Bonnar.
Jake’s older brother, high-flying lawyer Max is driven by a desire for self-progression and self-preservation. He is manipulative and appears to have it all - a flash car, big house, beautiful wife and a law firm in the heart of Edinburgh. But appearances can be deceiving.
Jake
Played by Jamie Sives.
The total opposite to his brother Max, Jake has a good heart and a moral conscience. A failed musician, Jake owns an independent record shop called Leith Beats, which has more vinyl than customers. Unlike his brother Max, Jake lacks ambition and is drifting aimlessly through life - until he meets Angie.
Angie

Played by Ruth Bradley.
Angie is the American niece of Walter, the man Max and Jake accidentally kill. She meets Jake at her uncle’s wake and quickly falls for him. Their relationship enters increasingly dangerous territory when Angie begins to suspect that Walter's death may not have been from natural causes.
Claire

Played by Siân Brooke.
Claire is married to Max and has enjoyed their privileged lifestyle. Claire begins to suspect that Max is hiding something. Parallel with this her new friendships lead her to question if she has made the right decisions in life.
Kenny

Played by Emun Elliott.
Kenny works with Max as a private investigator, though his drinking has led to both the breakdown of his marriage and a floundering career. When Max brings in Kenny to investigate Walter's death he is banking on Kenny's ineptitude. Yet Kenny proves to be far more astute than he appears.
Sheila

Played by Ellie Haddington.
Sheila is apparently the friendly neighbour who has been caring for Walter prior to his untimely demise. However, when she’s pulled into the brothers' guilty secret, her cold demeanour begins to crack.
Tina

Played by Moyo Akandé.
Tina, Claire's friend from gym, becomes an object of distraction for Claire and a route to possible escape. However, all is not what it seems for either of them.
