Meet the Stranded on Honeymoon Island contestants as host Davina McCall promises "lots of drama" from the dating series - "Just brace yourself to get totally hooked"

Twelve singles are looking for lifelong love in the bold new dating show on 蜜芽传媒 iPlayer and 蜜芽传媒 One

Published: 25 August 2025

Twelve singles looking for lifelong love take a giant leap into the unknown, by embarking on honeymoons like no other, with someone they鈥檝e met at a speed date for just five minutes.

Stranded on six remote, tropical beaches, these six newly formed couples must communicate and collaborate to get by, with nowhere to run when the going gets tough. Hosted by Davina McCall, this bold and original dating format seeks to discover if, away from the distractions of modern-day life, love can thrive in isolation.

Watch Stranded on Honeymoon Island from Wednesday 3 September on 蜜芽传媒 One and iPlayer, with new episodes on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

Davina, what can you tell us about Stranded on Honeymoon Island?

The thing I love about this show, is that they arrive on Honeymoon Island with no idea who they are going to marry. Our couples start with a speed dating session, they then pick their favourites, but they don鈥檛 know who our relationship experts have chosen for them. So, it鈥檚 the surprise of turning up to the wedding not knowing who they鈥檙e going to marry.

It鈥檚 actually quite sweet when you see the joy on someone鈥檚 face when the person at the altar is the person they were hoping for. Then they go to their new beach home for three weeks and it鈥檚 interesting watching them and seeing how they handle that situation and what they expect from their partner.

And then on top of all of that, it gets really complicated when we start doing Couples Cove. Everybody starts socialising together and then suddenly maybe you鈥檙e looking at other options you met at speed dating, it's carnage. Lots of drama to come!

Tell us about your role on the show.

I鈥檓 there at the speed dating to welcome them to the experience and to get them all geared up and tell them all what鈥檚 going to happen. As it鈥檚 called Stranded on Honeymoon Island, they do need to be and feel stranded so I can鈥檛 keep popping up every week.

I鈥檓 there in the last couple of shows to support the couples, they鈥檝e been on quite a journey so I wanted to go in and have a chat with them. I feel like they needed to see Mummy, I鈥檓 like the mother of the show and they needed a bit of motherly love. It was a tough journey for all of the cast, so I felt it was important for me to be there at the beginning and the end.

The show really fast-tracks the early stages of a relationship in such an extreme way, what effect do you think that had on the couples?

What鈥檚 so good about putting a couple in a problematic situation early on, is that it shows you who somebody really is. An important part of finding somebody attractive is learning how they handle difficult times. Are they resourceful? Can they do the things needed to keep them safe and comfortable for the next few weeks? How attractive is that to the other person?

The other thing I鈥檝e realised with this show is how important confidence is. It鈥檚 so interesting how some couples come together, and you can see how they build each other鈥檚 confidence from the get-go. Some couples come together and find each other very attractive at the speed dating, but one of them might lose confidence very quickly, and confidence is key in attractiveness, I think.

What made you want to be involved in the show?

I was quite busy generally in life and I was at a stage where I thought I don鈥檛 think I can do any more TV shows. I had a couple of nice shows, I鈥檝e got ITV鈥檚 Long Lost Family and The Masked Singer, I didn鈥檛 need anything else, but this one came to me and I read the ideas of every show that someone sends to me. I wouldn鈥檛 say no to something without reading it myself and I read this, and I thought, oh no this is actually really good and I thought how is this going to be different from other shows and the thing I love about Stranded is the learning.

Everybody, the viewer and the people taking part, can really learn something from this show about themselves, about each other, about the human condition and even if they don鈥檛 end up with somebody, everybody learns something they can take into their next relationship, and I love that about it.

Would you say that鈥檚 what sets this show apart from other dating shows?

Yes, I feel it鈥檚 the deep learning that people do about themselves, about other people and what they want. I think it really cements what they want and what鈥檚 important in life.

What can we expect from the cast?

The cast are amazing. It鈥檚 interesting to see how much they changed from the speed dating in the first week and what they go through. They are resilient, strong and emotional. They show their true colours, they are honest and it鈥檚 brilliant!

How would you fair stranded on a remote island?

I like to think I鈥檓 quite low maintenance and I鈥檇 like to think I鈥檇 muck in and get down and dirty. I鈥檓 not frightened of bugs or animals or things like that, but I鈥檇 really struggle without technology which is quite interesting, and I鈥檇 quite enjoy it for that reason, having no technology is mega. I would also struggle being with somebody I didn鈥檛 know and what if we didn鈥檛 get on? I think that鈥檚 why the flare outs are so important on this show as they have got the opportunity to leave, because if it鈥檚 not working then it鈥檚 hell!

If you could take 3 items with you to a remote island, what would you take?

I would really miss a bath, so a bath with running water and bubble bath would be amazing. I would love to take something to read, something I could learn from. Lastly the biggest luxury of all would be music in some way, I鈥檇 really miss music.

What are your top tips for a successful relationship?

Friendship. To fancy someone, to find them attractive, for there to be some kind of carnal attraction between the two of you. Plus, trust and respect.

What can viewers expect when they tune in?

To get totally addicted. You watch one episode and you鈥檙e like Oh My God, I want to see who else is going to come and get married and once you鈥檝e seen the first two, you鈥檙e in. Just brace yourself to get totally hooked, you鈥檙e going to love it!

It's been six years since Mae鈥檚 last serious relationship, which lasted a year. Since then, she鈥檚 dated off and on, but never found the deep, lasting connection she鈥檚 seeking. She has had a rocky few years of dating and has been single for almost four years. Millie believes she鈥檚 built-up walls when it comes to guys, and her standards have become incredibly high鈥 she admits perhaps even a bit too high. Millie is tired of dating the wrong guys and tends to get the "ick" pretty quickly. She feels that being isolated on an island might help her shift focus away from material things and allow her to build a deeper, more meaningful connection with someone.

She is looking for a mature, independent man who鈥檚 driven in his career and doesn鈥檛 need to be looked after. She鈥檚 open to tattoos and wants someone who is into fitness, has a good sense of humour and a great sense of style.

On Honeymoon Island, Millie will mostly miss her mum and her Pomeranian, Gizmo. She will also miss her home comforts such as her bed, her friends and her daily routines. He has been single for three years and has only had one serious relationship, which ended when his girlfriend cheated on him. The experience left Moray guarded towards relationships, and he now struggles with trusting others. Although he has continued dating since then, he is yet to find someone who truly feels like "the one." He hopes that his time on Honeymoon Island will offer him a fresh perspective and help him overcome his fear of commitment. Through this experience, Moray is eager to learn how to open his heart fully and trust in the possibility of lasting love.

Moray is looking for a partner he can find an intellectual spark with; he would like someone ambitious but who also doesn't take themselves too seriously. Ultimately, he is looking for a partner who can be his 鈥渂est friend in the female form鈥.

A woman in a white dress stands in the shade of plants on a tropical island

Taniae has spent the last decade single, embracing her independence and focusing on her career. She has a history of going for 鈥榖ad boys鈥 and feels these experiences have contributed to her current single status. She is now more selective but does acknowledge that her high standards and career-driven mindset can sometimes intimidate potential partners.

Since moving to London, she has become more open to love, but she remains cautious, learning from past relationships where she was heartbroken. She hopes that by stepping outside her comfort zone and disconnecting from the finer things in life, Honeymoon Island will help her become more open to love and build deeper connections.

Taniae loves British guys! She would like someone clever, funny and confident, as well as honest, loyal, emotionally available and committed to their growth. They must be ambitious, and spiritual or have faith. She would like a fit, tall man with dark hair. She鈥檚 also deeply spiritual and passionate about astrology, so a partner who鈥檚 open to that world is a big plus.

On Honeymoon Island Taniae will miss hot water, Pilates and her Instagram!
