Roy Waller's afternoon show on ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio Norfolk is a global experience. As the programme broadcasts around the world via the internet, it's only fair that Roy, his team and his listeners embrace other languages and cultures. So, for the third year running, Roy has teamed up with the CSV Norfolk Action Desk to present another popular 10-week language learning course. Learning Portuguese After the success of learning French and Spanish, this year the team presents Roy Goes Portuguese. The 10-week on-air learning course is being broadcast on Fridays from 1pm. The series aims to give an introduction to the Portuguese language and culture. "I thought that learning Spanish was exciting, but as a person who just loves the Algarve and the golf there, I'm so looking forward to learning Portuguese," said Roy. "This might also help in talking to the many Portuguese people who have now made Norfolk their home," he added. Lesson plans There is a lesson plan to accompany the series, so you can learn along with Roy, which you can download here. After the programme is broadcast, the lessons will also be available to 'listen again' via this website to help you learn at your own pace. She's delighted about the opportunity to educate people on the growing Portuguese population in Norfolk. "I am very excited about doing the programme and am enjoying my time on the Roy Waller show," said Elisa. "I really hope that bringing the Portuguese language to the English population of Norfolk will help people to communicate better, maybe not in full conversation, but just using aÌýpersonal greeting can help greatly. "Also talking about the different culture and food of the Portuguese people can help bring people together," she added. - The Keystone Development Trust is a charity dedicated to improving the quality of life in Thetford, Brandon and surrounding areas, and they work closely with the Portuguese communities based in Breckland.
