FIREBALL

Joss Scott was driving on the Glenshane Pass when she spotted a fireball in the sky. It's one sighting of what's believed to be a space rock in collision with earth's atmosphere, which could have been as large as a small car, and the hunt is on to find any remains which might have landed somewhere in Ireland.

Astronomy Ireland says that a "huge fireball" was seen by thousands of people across Ireland on the evening of February 3 2010. They believe that the asteroid, which may have been as big as a car, could have made its way to the ground. They are seeking reports from anyone who might have seen it.
