TAKE CARE

Are some vulnerable people who need care in their homes losing out on what they need because of a lack of money? That’s the contention of a group of private domiciliary care workers in the city. Their contracts are being cut as the Western Trust focuses on reducing spending by a quarter of a million pounds. It’s focusing its resources on those assessed as “having a critical level of risk or need”, after an overspeand of more than two million. Kathleen Arbuckle, who’s 87, told Eve Blair about how much she values the care she receives. First, Kathleen's daughter, Siobhan, took Eve to show her the bathroom facilities her mother tries to use.
