A DERRY ICON

Sister Sister Aloysius with Pauline Ross of the Playhouse Aloysius was originally from Dungiven, but considered herself very much a Derry woman. She joined the Sisters of Mercy, and spent many years teaching. But she was best known as an artist and icon painter. She spent her later years as artist in residence at the Playhouse in the city. Two years before her death she spoke to Eamon Friel about art, her life, and her love of music.
