"NATIONAL IMPORTANCE"

A local archaeologist is calling for recognition for a neolithic site of national importance in Derry, at Thornhill College. It's believed that 20 houses once stood here with palisades - making it unique in the UK. Ten thousand ancient artefacts have been removed, including 300 arrowheads. But nothing is visible over ground, and there's no signage to suggest what lies beneath. Ian Leitch told Mark Patterson he believes it should be listed as a scheduled monument.
