Star sign:Ìý Pisces

Born 'n' Bred:Ìý Born in Lincoln, but bred all over! My Dad was a pilot in the RAF (and then for holiday airline Britannia Airways) and was often away for long periods. I spent a great deal of time with my grandparents in Selby.

First memory:Ìý Spending New Year's Day at Filey with my parents and grandparents, having spent another fantastic Christmas in Selby. I also remember Christmas from a couple of years' later when my Dad bought me a train set, and him telling my grandad that it was typical that I was playing with the box! I still have that train set in a box in the garage!

First record bought : Captain Beaky and his band - the fantastic LP!

First job:Ìý Stacking shelves in Finefare...I lasted four hours and decided that there was more to life! So I got a job in a pub restaurant as a waiter!

Jeremy Buxton on Jim'll Fix It

Young Jeremy & Gloria Hunniford on Jim'll Fix It!

Little known fact about yourself:Ìý I wrote to Jimmy Saville when I was 11 to ask for him to fix it for me to be a radio presenter. My letter somehow ended up in the mailbag of the Radio 2 controller David Hatch, and he thought it was a brilliant idea and recommended it to the TV production team on Jim'll Fix It! What a fabby time I had - I took over Gloria Hunniford's show!

Favourite food and drink:Ìý Favourite drink is Dutch Bokbeer - the special seasonal editions that are very flavoured! Favourite food is Confit de Canard. Sounds very pompous, I know, but it's basically duck! I spent a year working in the French Pyrenees as a teacher, and they served the most delicious duck...for school dinners!

Favourite place in the world:Ìý Anywhere near water.

Favourite place in North Yorkshire:Ìý Filey Brigg because I did a huge amount of my scuba diving and snorkelling training there! It's a fascinating place to go exploring - there is literally a whole world there under the waves that has been excavated!

Any pet hates:Ìý Being nagged...but not by my wife! She never does that.

What would your desert island luxury be:Ìý A digital radio or Broadband internet.

Most embarrassing radio moment:Ìý The moment I did a spoonerism when reading the weather on a commercial radio station in the early 1990s. I was trying to say mist patches...just as the cleaner came into the studio doing the rounds with a tray of cups of tea. She ended up on her back in a fit of giggles with tea everywhere.

Best radio moment:Ìý Obviously when on Radio 2 for Jim'll Fix It! Also when I did a radio programme from Holland - the radio station was in Rotterdam and had a bar sponsored by Heineken! I have this dream of getting something similar installed at ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio York!

Who would be your dream co-presenter:Ìý Gloria Hunniford....your first is always your best! No one will top that experience.

If you weren’t a broadcaster what would you be:Ìý Probably an airline pilot like my Dad was - only because he got to go to some fantastic places for free!
