Il Divo

David and Urs from Il Divo took time out of their busy schedule to chat to ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio York's Adam Tomlinson.

Il Divo, comprising of David from America, Sebastian from France, Urs from Switzerland and Carlos from Spain burst onto the scene three years ago.

Simon Cowell had the idea to take four extremely handsome young men and turn them into a classical singing sensation.

Although Simon loved the sound of classical singing, what he didn't like was the classical repertoire. So he came up with the idea of a group singing pop songs in a classical style, and so Il Divo were born.

Their statistics are staggering. They have sold 18 million albums worldwide, their 2007 World tour has visited every continent, their 78 concerts have seen them perform in front of over 600,000 people. Their first three albums have clocked up 39 number ones across the world and their first and second albums made their debut in the UK charts at number one!
