Former ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ correspondant Alan Johnston was held captive in Gaza for 16 weeks. He spoke to ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio York's Adam Tomlinson about his ordeal and his plans for the future...

Alan Johnston was the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½'s correspondent in Gaza, and the only foreign journalist from a major media organisation based in the area when he went missing in mid-march 2007. He'd been there for three years and he knew the risks associated with covering the news in such a volatile environment.

Alan's colleagues right across the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ held a vigil for his safe return every week of his captivity and he was released after 114 days.

He spoke to ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio York's Adam Tomlinson about his experience...
