From Friday 5 February, ��ѿ��ý World News presents Weekend World, a brand new weekend review programme, as part of the channel’s schedule refresh, which commenced this week.

Presented by award-winning ��ѿ��ý broadcaster Paddy O'Connell, Weekend World is a sometimes irreverent and always lively look at viewers' comments on ��ѿ��ý World News programmes and world issues in general. With his trademark wit, Paddy presents the audience with an exclusive snapshot of programmes being shown over the coming weekend on ��ѿ��ý World News.

This weekend’s debut programme will feature two special guests. Reporter Chris Rogers will be talking about his special undercover investigation into Romania’s state institutions for Our World: Ceausescu's Children. Diplomatic Correspondent James Robbins will be interviewed from the edit suite as he cuts Our World: Mandela - 20 years of Freedom. Twenty years after the release of Nelson Mandela, James travels to South Africa and talks to FW de Klerk; the President who freed Mandela after 27 years of incarceration, and Archbishop Desmond Tutu.

Paddy O'Connell regularly presents on ��ѿ��ý Radio 4. For six years he was the ��ѿ��ý Wall Street correspondent, and anchored 9/11 coverage from New York in September 2001. He returns to ��ѿ��ý World News where he previously presented World Business Report.
