Queen's Golden Jubilee programmes head up ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Worldwide's lineup at Midem 2002

Two unique concerts to celebrate Her Majesty The Queen's Golden Jubilee in June head up ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Worldwide's offering at MIDEM 2002. THE QUEEN'S CONCERTS: Prom At The Palace ( classical, 1st June, 1 x 120') and Party at the Palace (pop, 3rd June, 1 x 120') will take place in June at Buckingham Palace, and will be available to broadcasters in High Definition live and recorded formats.

The concerts are the first ever to be held in the Palace Gardens, and will bring together internationally renowned musical performers to mark the Jubilee and raise money for The Queen's nominated charities.

Also on offer from ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Worldwide at MIDEM is a portrait of Ravi Shankar (1 x 90' or 1 x 60'), an extraordinary documentary filmed over two years, by Agat films in co-production with Arte France. There are appearances from John Coltrane, Yehudi Menuhin and special footage of Ravi teaching the late George Harrison. ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Worldwide and Arte France present a special screening on 21 January in the Riviera Hall Conference Rooms, Palais des Festivals, Cannes, at 6:30pm.

Other new music programming includes two new concert galas from the Royal Opera House - Angela Gheorghiu at the Royal Opera House (60') features one of the world's most celebrated sopranos performing a wide variety of music, from Gianni Schicchi to My Fair Lady, amongst others - and The Richard Tucker Foundation Concert (120'). In this event, in memory of one of America's greatest tenors, Julius Rüdel leads The Philharmonia Orchestra, the Royal Opera Chorus and a remarkable cast including Cecila Bartoli, Grace Bumbry and David Daniels amongst others.

ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Library Sales, responsible for marketing the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Archive, will attend MIDEM for the first time this year. The ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Library - the largest, wholly-owned TV archive in the world - comprises more than 50 years of ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ programmes across all genres, and contains an unparalleled collection of music on TV.
