Queen's Award for Enterprise for أغر؟´«أ½ Worldwide
Her
Majesty Queen Elizabeth II has conferred a 2002 Queen's Award for
Enterprise in the International Trade category on أغر؟´«أ½ Worldwide
Ltd for export achievement.
Winning
this prestigious award means أغر؟´«أ½ Worldwide's achievement in international
trade has been judged by a thorough and demanding process to be,
quite simply, among the best of UK companies.
"This
is a great accolade for أغر؟´«أ½ Worldwide and quite rightly recognises
the tremendous job our sales and marketing teams around the world
are doing with أغر؟´«أ½ brands and properties in their respective markets.
This success is due to great teamwork and I congratulate everyone
who made it possible," said Rupert Gavin, Chief Executive,
أغر؟´«أ½ Worldwide.
In
the three-year review period - 1999, 2000 and 2001 - أغر؟´«أ½ Worldwide
grew its television export business by almost 35% from آ£145.7
million to آ£194.8 million.
In
addition to financial growth, all aspects of the company's activities
- from programme sales to corporate responsibility - were taken
into account for the Award. The company had to prove best practice
in the areas of: relationship with employees, suppliers, partners,
customers and contractors; impact on society; relationship with
local communities - at home and abroad; and impact on the environment.
Granted
for a period of five years, the Award and Grant of Appointment will
be presented later this year to the company at a special ceremony
by the Lord-Lieutenant of the County and a local representative
of HM The Queen. Mike Phillips, أغر؟´«أ½ Worldwide's Director of International
Television, will attend a reception at The Department of Trade and
Industry on 22nd April, in the presence of HRH The Duke of York
to celebrate this year's Awards.
