ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Magazines sets-up a dedicated Food Group and appoints new Publisher

A new Publisher has been appointed to take charge of the newly established Food Group within ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Magazines. The Food Group consists of Olive - the most exciting new food magazine launch of the year and market-leader ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Good Food magazine, as well as special one-shots like ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Good Food Pasta Cookbook and Vegetarian magazine.

Nicki Hill takes up her position as Food Group Publisher in January bringing with her a wealth of experience from an advertising and magazine background. Prior to joining ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Magazines, Nicki worked at Forward Group as Group Account Director and was responsible for managing and growing the turnover of TescoÂ’s contract publishing business. Before Forward Group, Nicki ran her own training and consultancy firm for the media and advertising business for nine years. NickiÂ’s other credentials include director level positions at Southern Radio, The Observer and European Magazines Ltd.

Meanwhile, Orlando Murrin becomes Editorial Director of the Food Group. Orlando joined Good Food as Editor in October 1997, steering the title through six successive circulation rises and gaining the magazine an international reputation as an authority on home cooking. He will oversee the Food GroupÂ’s strategy and vision over the crucial months and years ahead.

Gillian Carter, who joined Good Food a year ago as Deputy Editor, will become Good FoodÂ’s new editor. She previously worked at IPC on Woman and as Editor of Family Circle, where she launched the successful Kids in the Kitchen Campaign.

Says Publishing Director Ashley Munday: “We’ve secured the most exceptional food magazine talent in the country for our titles. Nicki brings to us sound industry experience that will ensure that the magazines are managed with an expert set of hands. Orlando is one of the most dynamic editors in the magazine industry who will be working closely with the senior team on the development of our portfolio. And with Gillian we have a strong decisive leader who will take Good Food magazine into the new era ahead with great success.”

Notes to Editors:
ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Magazines is a division of ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Worldwide Ltd, the commercial consumer arm of the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½. It is the UKÂ’s third largest consumer magazines publisher, with a portfolio of 35 regular titles for adults, teenagers and children. ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Worldwide does not use licence fee income for its activities and re-invests in public service programming. In 2002/2003 ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Worldwide returned £123 million to the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½.
