World Cup 2002 - ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Sport leads the way with a unique tri-media service

The World Cup 2002: two countries with 20 stadia host 32 nations and the world's greatest players in a tournament that unites the globe. ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Sport will be providing viewers, listeners and internet users across the UK with the ultimate World Cup experience.

Leading the way with a unique tri-media service, ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Sport offers the nation the opportunity to experience the World Cup any time, any place, anywhere.

Live and highlights action will form the basis of coverage on ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ ONE and Radio Five Live with ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½i – both online and through interactive TV – adding an unequalled dimension to the 2002 tournament.

In a historic broadcasting first, after the daily Match Of The Day highlights, enter ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½i's World Cup Zone which will unite viewers of the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½'s interactive coverage with Radio Five Live listeners and online visitors in a live Talk Forum in which viewers and listeners can take part in World Cup chat, comment and analysis with Ray Stubbs, Russell Fuller and a host of expert pundits by phone, text or e-mail. A must for every die-hard footie fan.

Providing 24-hours-a-day access to all the games, a special England channel and intensive analysis of all the action, ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½i is integral to the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½'s package of services to viewers and listeners this summer.

On ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ ONE, Gary Lineker, Ray Stubbs and Match Of The Day regulars Alan Hansen and Mark Lawrenson will be joined by a host of footballing stars including Peter Schmeichel, Jamie Redknapp, Peter Reid, David O'Leary, Martin O'Neill and Ian Wright. With daily live games and evening highlights in Match Of The Day – World Cup 2002, they continue the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½'s winning formula of expert analysis, uninterrupted coverage and entertaining chat.

Radio Five Live has turned over its schedule to the tournament, making it the nation's World Cup Station. From Breakfast with Victoria Derbyshire, broadcasting live from the tournament, through to Sport On Five, Five Live will broadcast 49 live commentaries from the games in over 250 hours of coverage.

ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Sport Online's World Cup site – found at – is packed with facts and figures, behind-the-scenes news and views, games and, new for 2002, Mini Motty – who will arrive on computer desktops to announce goals, or just for a game of keepy-uppy!
