Managing Editors for ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Local Radio Stations
ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½
English Regions today announced the appointment of new Managing
Editors for ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radios Stoke, Shropshire and Suffolk.
Sue
Owen, appointed at ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio Stoke, is joining the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½
from the Chrysalis Group where she has worked for seven years, currently
as the National Editorial Director for the Digital News Network.
She
is not a complete stranger to the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½, having worked at ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio
York in the late 1980s. Sue is replacing Mark Hurrell, who is moving
to a new position as Managing Editor of ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio Gloucestershire.
Gerald
Main is taking over at ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio Suffolk in succession
to David Peel, who is retiring from the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½.
Gerald
is currently presenter of the consumer show at ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio Cambridgeshire.
He joined ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Local Radio in 1979 as a station assistant at ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½
Radio Lancashire.
Since
then he has accummulated a wealth of experience, including spells
at ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio Northampton, ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Three Counties Radio and ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio
Training.
The
new Managing Editor at ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio Shropshire is Tim Pemberton,
who is currently running ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio 2002 - the Commonwealth Games
radio station.
Previously,
Tim was a senior producer in Religion & Ethics at ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Manchester,
co-ordinating major projects such as the annual Faith in the Nations
Week and the Young Choristers of the Year competition.
He
joined the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ in 1989 as a production trainee in ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Midlands so
is returning to home turf. Tim is successor to Tony Fish, who is
retiring from the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½.
