Diamond Day, Glorious Goodwood and The Shergar Cup live on ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Sport this summer

From 27 July ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Sport will have live coverage of three of racing's premier events, continuing ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Sport's big summer of sporting action.

First in the calender is the jewel in Ascot's summer season - Diamond Day - on Saturday 27 July.

Clare Balding will present live action in Grandstand of the four race card including the centrepiece 52nd running of the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Diamond Stakes.

The race is the only British leg of the World Series Racing Championship, which brings together 12 races in ten countries worldwide to determine the greatest racehorse on the planet.

Tuesday 30 July sees the start of Glorious Goodwood with live coverage throughout the five day Festival Meeting from the Sussex Downs.

A four-race card will be on offer each day with coverage on ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ ONE and ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ TWO.

This year's festival sees the 200th anniversary of Goodwood Racecourse and in celebration the five-furlong Pattern race will be re-named the King George 200th Anniversary Stakes and moves from the opening day to Thursday 1 August.

The
Blue Square Shergar Cup on Saturday August 10 has Great Britain's finest jockeys battling it out against a team of elite horsemen from the Rest of the World over six races.

Each team is managed by a sporting legend with past managers including Vinnie Jones and Kevin Keegan.

Last years event was close run with the Rest of the World team eventually scoring a 1-2-3 in the final race and lifting the trophy. ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Sport will have live coverage on ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ TWO of the full six-race card.

Carl Hicks, ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Racing Editor, says: "After the Derby and Royal Ascot, these three meetings continue a magnificent summer of top class racing on the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½.

"The King George always provides a fascinating contest between the leading horses of different years and once again Godolphin look to have a strong hand in the race with Sakhee and Grandera leading their challenge."

ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Sport's coverage of all three events will be led by Clare Balding and Willie Carson.

Jim McGrath, Jimmy Lindley, Ray Cochrane and Jonathan Powell will be on hand to analyse the runners and riders from the paddock to the finishing post and Angus Loughran will provide tips, hints and betting information.
