Pauline Quirke, Warren Clarke, Angela Griffin and Ian Kelsey
star in a new series of Down To Earth for ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ ONE
Ian
Kelsey (Casualty and Emmerdale) and Angela Griffin (Holby City and
Cutting It) are to star in the new series of Down To Earth, with
Pauline Quirke and Warren Clarke, which returns to ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ ONE early
next year.
The
third series opens with a glorious family wedding at Silverdale
in the picturesque Devonshire valley.
Brian
(Warren Clarke) and Faith (Pauline Quirke) Addis have realised their
"country life" dream and are content and proud on the
occasion of their son's marriage.
The
arrival from London of Brian's cousin Matt Brewer (Ian Kelsey),
his new wife Frankie (Angela Griffin) and her three step children
heralds a new and exciting phase for the village.
Matt
Brewer gets an unexpected opportunity to run his own business in
Devon. This has always been a dream of his and against all odds,
he persuades his new wife to go with him. So the onus is on him
to make things work.
Frankie
struggles with her new life and identity but resolves to make a
go of things. However, juggling life as a step mother, a wife and
a market gardener takes strength of character and some getting used
to!
Jane
Tranter, ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Controller of Drama Commissioning, says: "We are
very pleased to see Warren Clarke and Pauline Quirke return in Down
to Earth and are delighted to have the combined talents of Ian Kelsey
and Angela Griffin adding refreshing vitality to this popular and
heart warming family drama for Sunday nights on ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ ONE."
Executive
Producer, Mervyn Watson, says: "The leap from city to country
does not mean leaving reality behind. Matt and Frankie's problems
and kids come with them.
"This
series reflects contemporary life sharply and humorously. You try
taking a pig's temperature!"
Down
To Earth is currently filming on location in London and Devon.
The
producer is Rosemarie Whitman and the directors are Juliet May (episodes
1 & 2); Frank Smith (3 & 4); Mike Cocker (5 & 6); and
Rob Evans (7 & 8). The executive producer is Mervyn Watson.
Down
To Earth is a Whistling Gypsy production in association with ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½
ONE.
