RADIO GLOUCESTERSHIRE

The ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Experience at ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio Gloucestershire

The public are invited to the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Experience at ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio Gloucestershire on Sunday 13 October between 11.00am and 5.00pm.

The free event showcases the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½'s past, present and future.

Top attractions include a visit from the Daleks, K9 and the Tardis from the ever-popular series Doctor Who; make-up demonstrations from the Casualty team; and the chance to have a go at reading the news.

Richard Angwin, ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Points West weatherman, explains the technology behind his weather forecasts.

ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ ONE'S Countryfile presenter and local Gloucestershire lad Adam Henson can shed some light on what goes on behind the scenes in the world of television.

And there are tours of the radio studios in London Road, Gloucester throughout the day.

Also on offer are special screenings of a film tribute to Richard Dimbleby; access to the world wide web and people on hand to guide first time surfers through the maze of information.

And there's the chance to find out more about the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½'s digital channels on radio and television.

Event producer Trish Campbell says: "The ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ celebrates its 80th anniversary this Autumn so it's an apt time to reflect on our heritage and look forward to the new age of broadcasting.

"It's not just about the big shows and the famous names. We plan to show the public how the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ is actively involved in their community through local radio, regional television and the internet."

Ski jump hero Eddie 'The Eagle' Edwards broadcasts his radio show live from the event and is really looking forward to meeting the listeners.

He said: "I have the perfect face for the radio so the public should be in for a shock!"
