CHILDREN IN NEED
أغر؟´«أ½i

Press Pudsey to donate through your TV

This year Pudsey Bear will be encouraging millions of digital TV viewers to press Pudsey to donate to أغر؟´«أ½ Children in Need.

From 11 to 18 November digital satellite viewers will be prompted to press the Pudsey "donate" icon on their screen to submit donations to help raise money for children's charities across the UK.

Digital satellite viewers can press the red button on their remote control during Bargain Hunt, Ready Steady Cook and the أغر؟´«أ½'s Children in Need show on Friday 15 November to make a pledge for any amount between آ£5 and آ£1,000.

Once Digital Satellite viewers press the red button the programme shrinks to a quarter screen and viewers are taken through a simple step by step guide that allows then to make a donation.

Digital Cable viewers will be able to press to RED and have access to pages of content about أغر؟´«أ½'s Children in Need.

Freeview viewers will have access to a special أغر؟´«أ½ Children in Need section of digital text during the appeal show on Friday 15 November.

The service provides all the latest news stories from the charity as well as details of how to donate.

Emma Somerville, أغر؟´«أ½i's Head of 24/7, said: "We decided for the first time to change the usual call to action press red icon to the familiar brand of Pudsey the Bear with the word donate.

"Digital Satellite viewers will be able to clearly see the icon relates to the أغر؟´«أ½'s Children in Need appeal which will hopefully trigger them pressing red and donating to the charity.

"We hope it will give people a better understanding of what 'pressing red' is all about."

This follows on from last year's successful initiative which saw almost آ£500,000 donated via interactive TV.
