TV DRAMA

Waking the Dead is back on ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ ONE in 2003

ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ ONE's hit crime drama series, Waking The Dead - starring Trevor Eve, Sue Johnston, Claire Goose, Holly Aird and Wil Johnson - is currently filming until March 2003 for transmission on ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ ONE later next year.

Using advanced techniques in forensic science, the Met's crack squad of experts gets under the skin of some tough "cold cases" to discover the truth.

Boyd's (Trevor Eve) team of devoted professionals often take risks in order to bring the perpetrators to justice.

"With over eight million viewers enjoying the recent two-part drama of the last series, Waking The Dead has established itself as an event in the schedule," says Jane Tranter, Controller of ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Drama Commissioning.

"It's great to see it returning to ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ ONE next year alongside other popular dramas including Cutting It, Born and Bred and In Deep."

Cases under scrutiny include a difficult investigation involving the remains of a young man discovered in an ancient burial ground.

The unearthing of new clues take the squad on an unexpected trail. Tom Bell, Saskia Reeves and Charlie Creed-Miles also star.

In another story, Boyd is on dangerous ground when an investigation into multiple deaths at a house in London's Notting Hill turns the spotlight on a member of his own team.

Waking The Dead also stars Sue Johnston as psychological profiler Dr Grace Foley; Holly Aird as forensic scientist Dr Frankie Wharton; Claire Goose as DC Mel Silver, and Wil Johnson as DS Spencer Jordan, Boyd's second-in-command.

Created by Barbara Machin, Waking The Dead is written by Stephen Davis, Simon Mirren and Ed Whitmore. Produced by Richard Burrell, the executive producer is Alexei De Keyser.
