John Holmes comes home to ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio Nottingham

Presenter John Holmes is set to re-join ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio Nottingham next month after a 15 year absence - to take over the weekday afternoon programme between 2.00 and 5.00pm.

John has spent the last six years at ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio Derby, but as he's lived in Nottingham for over 30 years, he's delighted to be "coming home".

He says: "After some most enjoyable and rewarding years at ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio Derby, I thought it couldn't get any better - and then I had the chance to come to Radio Nottingham.

"I'm delighted to be back home, broadcasting in my local area and about my local area. It's a fantastic new challenge!"

Mike Bettison, Managing Editor, ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio Nottingham, adds: "We're pleased to welcome John back to ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio Nottingham. We feel the time is right to bring a fresh sound to our schedule, and John will do just that.

"He's an experienced presenter whose approach to broadcasting will be enjoyed by our listeners."

John has over 30 years broadcasting experience in both television and radio, and although he was born in Essex he has lived in Nottingham since he attended the city's university in the late 1960s.

Current afternoon presenter Brian Tansley will continue to present his nostalgia programme every Sunday.

ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio Nottingham broadcasts on 95.5 and 103.8FM.

All the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½'s digital services are now available on , the new free-to-view digital terrestrial television service, as well as on satellite and cable.

Freeview offers the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½'s eight television channels as well as 11 ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ radio networks.
