War in Iraq - press alert from ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½

Television


The Six O'Clock News will hear from Clive Myrie with the Royal Marines at Umm Qusr and Ben Brown, also in the town. Richard Bilton will report on the eight British helicopter crash casualties and Jeremy Bowen will provide analysis of Iraqi military surrenders.


There will be an additional news bulletin at 8.00pm, presented by Huw Edwards, with reports from Nick Bryant on rumours of Saddam Hussein's death and Robert Nisbet from a press conference in California about the impact on the Oscars.


News 24 will be simulcast on ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ TWO between 9.00-10.00pm.


Radio


Radio 4 - PM will focus on the joint Church Leaders' statements. Barnie Choudhury will report on the Muslim day of prayers. 5.00pm.


Radio 4 - The World Tonight will analyse where the military campaign is going and what can be expected over coming days. They will interview Chris Patten on relationships in Europe in the future. And they will be asking: are students becoming radical? 10.00pm.


ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio Five Live will run a rolling news service until further notice. Drive will be co-presented by Peter Allen in Kuwait. 4.00pm. News special - there will be a news special with Brian Alexander between 7.00-10.00pm. Matthew Bannister will look at how the media is getting its information at 10.00pm. Up All Night will examine the effects of the war on US business. From 1.00am.


Radio 1 Newsbeat will hear from young Muslims in Leicester.


Asian Network will be reflecting the views of the Asian community, with particular focus on the Friday prayers.

ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ ONE, The Politics Show will have Geoff Hoon in the studio. Noon.
