Celtic's UEFA semi-finals live on ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Scotland

ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Scotland today (Wednesday 26 March 2003) announced that they have won the rights to screen both legs of the UEFA Cup semi-finals between Celtic and Boavista.

The first leg is at Celtic Park on Thursday 10 April with a 7.05pm kick-off, while the second leg in Oporto is on Thursday 24 April with a 8.05pm (BST) kick-off.

Sportscene on 10 April will be introduced by Dougie Donnelly with Gordon Smith and Paul Elliott.

Rob Maclean and Sandy Clark will desribe all the action with trackside updates from Chick Young.

Celtic's European exploits this season have been live on ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Scotland on no fewer than seven previous occasions; both legs of the ties against Blackburn, Celta Vigo and Stuttgart plus the decisive leg against Liverpool at Anfield were all broadcast.

ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Scotland already has a deal in place with UEFA to provide exclusive, live coverage of the UEFA Cup final, which will be the tenth live tie broadcast on ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Scotland.

ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Scotland's Head of Programmes, Ken MacQuarrie, said: "I am delighted that both Celtic's semi-final ties will be broadcast exclusively live on ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Scotland.

"It has been 16 years since a Scottish club reached a UEFA final, so every Scottish football fan will be tuning in to see whether Martin O'Neill's side can make it past Boavista."

By the time Celtic conclude their semi-final ties, ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Scotland will have broadcast live 32 of 38 Premierleague games, nine UEFA Cup matches, three of Scotland's away European Championship qualifiers and a Scottish Cup quarter-final tie.

That's 45 live games on ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Scotland with more to come!
